Kate Hanley, Director of Global Climate Strategy
As Director, Global Climate Strategy for Aramark, Kate is responsible for tracking progress toward and developing a pathway to achieve Aramark's climate commitments including 2030 science-based greenhouse gas reduction targets, net zero emissions by 2050, and a commitment to reduce food emissions 25% by 2030 under WRI's Coolfood Pledge. Kate collaborates across the organization on initiatives such as low-carbon menus, efficient operations, and sustainable sourcing.
Previously, Kate worked as Sustainability Director for the Town of Concord, MA, where she was responsible for launching the town’s first comprehensive climate action and resilience plan. Kate also spent 5 years at Environmental Defense Fund in Boston where she managed EDF Climate Corps, a network of professionals united to advance climate solutions and the leading graduate fellowship program in energy and sustainability.
Kate holds a dual degree from Clark University, MBA and MS in Environmental Science and Policy, as well as a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
