Aramark Sports + Entertainment Scores a Home Run with New Plant-Based Concept at Coors Field

March 6, 2024

Aramark Sports + Entertainment, the exclusive food and beverage partner of Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, is launching a new plant-based concept for the 2024 season. Better-Off Burgers features premium plant-based ballpark favorites, like burgers, chips, and shakes, that offer a satisfying alternative to meat. The vegan offerings cater to the diverse preferences of fans and align with Aramark's commitment to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the food it serves.

“After months of research and testing, the Aramark culinary team has created a unique, vegan menu with a robust flavor profile that mimics the taste and texture of real meat,” said Chef Richard Grab, Director of Culinary Innovation for Aramark Sports + Entertainment. “Better-Off Burgers offers a range of plant-based menu items that will appeal to all game-day goers. Whether you are a vegan, a vegetarian, or a meat-lover, there’s something for everyone on the menu.”

Better-Off Burgers will debut in Section 115 at the Rockies home opener on April 5. Guests can choose from the following menu items:

“Better-Off Burgers’ unique menu takes vegan food to the next level and will be a great addition to our robust game day offerings at Coors Field,” said John McKay, Senior Director Food Service Operations and Development, of the Colorado Rockies. “Since Coors Field first opened its doors in 1995, Aramark has been on the forefront of innovation and continues to elevate the game day experience for our fans, so we are very excited for guests to experience this new concept on Opening Day.”

Promoting Planetary Health

In 2022, Aramark committed to drastically reduce the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the food it serves in the U.S. by 25 percent by 2030, as part of its partnership with the World Resources Institute (WRI). Cutting carbon emissions is a critical component of the company’s ESG platform, Be Well. Do Well., focused on positively impacting people and the planet.

“We’re very excited for the launch of Better-Off Burgers at Coors Field because plant-based offerings can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote animal welfare, which align with our commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050,” said Alan Horowitz, Vice President of Sustainability at Aramark. “I commend Aramark Sports + Entertainment’s culinary team who worked tirelessly to create a ballpark friendly menu that works toward helping us achieve our planetary health goals.”
