Our People

The secret of greatness isn’t big — it’s the little things our great people do.

And when someone needs help, no matter how big or small, our people are the first to act. Going above and beyond is not something they’ve learned, it’s just who they are. Their passion for service inspires others and touches communities.

Great is empowering flavor discovery

“Education is your most powerful tool. Get as much as you can!”

– Franny Bland, Chef Manager, K-12

Meet ‘Chef’ Franny, Manager at the Goose Creek School District in Texas. She’s been at Goose Creek since 2017, and “loving every minute of it.” She has a passion for introducing children to their new favorite foods. In fact, her personal motto is: you don’t know what you like if you’ve never tried it. To Franny, the most important part of her job is helping ensure students get the highest quality food possible. She loves her team, and professes that she is constantly learning from them and couldn’t possibly do her job without them.

Great is contributing to the greater good

“Inspiring my community is the ultimate gift.”

– Mercedes Rodriguez, Supplier Diversity Manager

Mercedes Rodriguez’s giving spirit inspires everyone around her. She has a passion for helping others and spends her time giving back. Some of her latest missions have included helping to keep those in her community safe by volunteering at COVID vaccination centers, and creating 50 Explore Your Environment and 50 Healthy Plating and Eating activity kits that encourage youngsters to live healthy lifestyles. Last March, Mercedes participated in the Aramark Thrive Polar Pop Challenge, dousing herself with ice cold water balloons on a chilly winter evening to help fundraise for the Special Olympics.

On top of her generous approach to donating her time, Mercedes contributed to Aramark raising over $20K to an effort to increase awareness and acceptance of people living with disabilities.

Great is elevating the fan experience

“The fans that I run into are the best people in the world.”

– John Culin, Sports & Entertainment Vendor

When 16-year-old John Culin applied to sell hotdogs and beer at Veterans stadium in 1971, he had no idea how much he’d love the job. For John, now 66, it is and always has been all about the people. Each step up and down the aisles of the ballpark offer John the opportunity to interact with loyal Phillies fans. “The Phillies fans that I run into are the best people in the world,” and run into those fans he has. For over 50 years John’s brought joy to local ball fans. The pandemic hasn’t been fun, especially given the lack of fans at Citizens Bank Park. “This past June, when we got the call to come back, was the best news I've received in a long, long time.”
