On National Innovation Day, Aramark is celebrating the people, ideas, and technologies shaping the future of service across its global operations. From data‑driven dining to intelligent facilities management, Aramark continues to invest in innovation that enhances experiences for clients, consumers, and employees across every line of business.
“I like to describe Aramark as a hospitality leader, powered by technology. Innovation for us is a mindset focused on enabling remarkable experiences, said Baker Smith, Chief Information Officer at Aramark. “Of course, some innovations are guest-facing. Others remove friction behind the scenes so our frontline colleagues can focus on their most important work: Connecting with the people we serve.”
AI‑Powered Food Service, From Planning to the Plate
Across the business, Aramark is using artificial intelligence to transform how menus are planned, food is sourced, and meals are delivered.
At the center of this work is Hospitality IQ, Aramark’s enterprise‑wide ecosystem of AI‑powered applications that support smarter decision‑making and elevate guest experiences. Tools like Culinary Co‑Pilot help operators streamline menu planning, strengthen allergen and nutrition compliance, and respond quickly to supply chain changes, reducing planning time while improving consistency across locations.
Innovation in dining is also expanding in healthcare settings. In 2025, Aramark invested in and piloted a robotic meal service that operates around the clock, preparing fresh, customizable meals. The solution helps improve access, efficiency, and consistency while serving frontline teams.

Smart Facilities and Predictive Building Intelligence
In facilities management, Aramark is applying data and connected technologies to create safer, more efficient, and more resilient environments.
These capabilities were recently showcased at Aramark’s Facilities Innovation Forum, where clients and partners saw how emerging technologies are being deployed in real operating environments. Solutions on display included autonomous cleaning robots, asset tracking, predictive maintenance, and IoT‑enabled monitoring.
Platforms such as AIWX Connect play a central role in this work, using sensor data and real‑time analytics to monitor occupancy, equipment health, environmental conditions, and overall building performance. These insights enable predictive maintenance, early issue detection, and data‑driven service delivery across education, healthcare, and enterprise facilities, while supporting greater consistency and safety in high‑traffic environments.

Driving the Future of Hospitality
As Aramark marks National Innovation Day, the company’s focus remains clear: innovation succeeds when it delivers real value for people.
Whether it is learning and integrating new AI tools or robotic technologies, at Aramark the day recognizes the role that new ideas and scientific advancement play in shaping progress and inspiring future generations. In that spirit, the company is committed to pairing advanced technology with deep operational expertise to drive practical, people-centered innovation to elevate everyday experiences and help communities thrive.
