Growing up in Philadelphia, I was a Phillies fan long before I ever stepped foot inside Citizens Bank Park for work. I’m old enough to remember seeing a game at Veterans Stadium, and I even have an inaugural-season patch from CBP.
Like a lot of Philadelphians, growing up, I always hoped to catch an All-Star game at Citizens Bank Park someday. This year, I didn't exactly score tickets. Still, I did get something pretty close: the opportunity to spend time at the ballpark as the Phillies and Aramark Sports + Entertainment prepared to welcome the baseball world for MLB All-Star Week.
And after getting a behind-the-scenes look at what's in store, I can confidently say fans are in for a treat.
In celebration of the 2026 MLB All-Star Game and All-Star Week, Major League Baseball and the Philadelphia Phillies invited fans to help shape the culinary lineup at Citizens Bank Park.
The challenge? Vote for which of the four custom creations developed by the Aramark Sports + Entertainment team would earn a spot on the All-Star Week menu.
Thousands of fans voted virtually.
One item emerged victorious.
And while I'm still waiting for my own All-Star invitation, one Philadelphia-inspired creation officially made the lineup.
The winner is Betsy's Banana Ice Cream Sundae, an over-the-top dessert designed to help fans beat the summer heat because who doesn’t love ice cream in the summer… or anytime for that matter.
It starts with vanilla soft serve and layers on peanut brittle, hot fudge, strawberry sauce, and toasted marshmallows. In honor of America's 250th anniversary, it's finished with a festive topping of red, white, and blue sprinkles.
Of course, every great competition has a worthy challenger.
Enter the Revolutionary Rib Melt.
This wasn't just another ballpark sandwich. It featured smoked short rib, aged provolone, charred onion jam, fried peppers, pickled butter, and a side of rich beef consommé for dipping—all served on a buttery brioche roll.
As a fan of short rib, the Revolutionary Rib Melt may have been second place in the vote, but it’s first place in my heart.

The Aramark 250 Taste Tour's stop at Citizens Bank Park wasn't only about what was on the menu.
As Philadelphia prepares to host baseball's biggest stars, the ballpark also unveiled a hand-painted fiberglass All-Star Bell celebrating America250. Created in partnership with Bells Across PA and Mural Arts Philadelphia, the installation honors both the city's history and its role in the nation's 250th anniversary.
And while one work of art was being unveiled, another was taking shape just beyond it.
On the field, grounds crews were hard at work preparing Citizens Bank Park for its first-ever Midsummer Classic, including painting the official MLB All-Star Game logo directly onto the grass.
Watching the transformation happen in real time was a reminder that a massive event like this isn't built in a day. It's the result of countless people working behind the scenes to create an unforgettable experience for fans.

Kudos to the incredible Aramark Sports + Entertainment team for creating incredible dishes for fans to dig into for All-Star Week.
If you're heading to the All-Star festivities, do yourself a favor: grab a Betsy's Banana Ice Cream Sundae, keep an eye out for the America250 All-Star Bell, and don't pass up the Revolutionary Rib Melt or really any of the food items created by the Aramark team.
Between the food, the artwork, the atmosphere, and the excitement of hosting baseball's biggest stage, Aramark Sports + Entertainment is ready to serve the baseball world.
And for a lifelong Phillies fan, getting a sneak peek before the crowds arrived isn't a bad consolation prize.
