In recognition of Aramark Healthcare+’s commitment to food safety, quality, consistency, and operational excellence at the Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., the District of Columbia Department of Health has awarded the team the 17th Annual Director’s Award.
The Director’s Award is a prestigious recognition awarded to only about 1% of the more than 6,500 food service establishments across Washington, D.C. The award recognizes organizations that uphold exceptional food safety standards and demonstrate a sustained commitment to regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and public health.
“This award reflects the rigorous safety and operational standards our teams work to uphold every day,” said Paul “PJ” Johnson, Aramark Healthcare+ President and CEO. “It reflects what is possible when we continuously raise the bar, hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards, and remain focused on consistent execution, operational excellence, and the safety of those we serve.”
To be eligible for the DC Health Director’s Award, food service operations must demonstrate exceptional food safety performance, including no risk factor, priority, or priority foundation violations on their most recent health inspection reports. Eligible operations must maintain a certified food protection manager on-site during all hours of operation and adhere to rigorous employee health and hygiene standards.
