In late April 2026, Aramark Germany opened a new distribution center in Kaiserslautern, a city in southwest Germany. The modern facility—called F³ – Flexible for Future—was opened to prepare high-quality patient meals and maximize the efficient delivery of hospitality services and supplies in support of the company’s dynamic growth trajectory in the healthcare sector.
In 2025, Aramark Germany was chosen as the patient catering provider for the Westpfalz-Klinikum GmbH healthcare system, which operates hospitals and health centers across the West Palatinate and North Palatinate Uplands regions of southwest Germany. Aramark Germany began operations at Westpfalz-Klinikum GmbH May 1, 2026. Read more.
“Our goal is to deliver the highest standard of daily service for our patients,” said Thorsten Hemmer, Managing Director, Westpfalz-Klinikum GmbH. “To achieve this, we need partners who operate on equal footing, share our high-quality standards, and understand the requirements of modern patient catering. “We have found exactly that partner in Aramark, and the new distribution center creates the ideal foundation for this partnership.”
“With our F³ distribution center, we are creating a site that is already designed today to meet the demands of tomorrow,” said Arnd Rune Thomas, President, Aramark Germany. “Flexible for Future means maximum efficiency, the highest level of supply reliability, and room for further growth. At the same time, we strengthen local value creation through regional partners, such as local bakeries.”
Both Thomas and Hemmer attended the distribution center opening ceremony, along with invited guests and visitors, who were invited on guided tours to gain insight into the highly modern operations of the new center.
The F³ distribution center uses state-of-the-art, forward-looking technology, including an AI-supported conveyor belt control system that intelligently monitors and optimizes processes.
The location of the facility was chosen to enable central operations and ensure customers and facilities throughout the region can be reached quickly and reliably. It is Aramark Germany’s third distribution center in Germany; the first was opened in 2012 in Frankfurt.
