Aramark Germany has been awarded a new 12-year contract to provide all food and beverage services for fans and guests at Vienna’s Generali-Arena, home to the Austrian Bundesliga and FK Austria Wien football (soccer) clubs. This new catering partnership marks a milestone: It is the first time Aramark has expanded its business into Austria.

“In Aramark, we have gained a promising and highly competent partner who will take care of the wishes of fans and partners and contribute to the good atmosphere in our beautiful stadium with the best culinary accompaniment,” said Harald Zagiczek, CFO, FK Austria Wien.

Aramark competed against numerous catering services competitors in a Europe-wide bid, according to an FK Austria press release.

“With Aramark, we have been able to gain a globally active group for Austria that is intensively involved with us, our identity, and our roots," said Zagiczek.

Starting July 1, 2025, Aramark chefs and other team members will provide food and beverage services for the public and hospitality areas; manage third-party events, such as conferences; and offer a comprehensive catering lineup at the Viola Pub, the sports club’s pub within the stadium. Generali-Arena can accommodate more than 15,600 fans.

All dishes will be prepared directly in the stadium using fresh ingredients of the highest quality.

“We are very proud of our teams who made this major step possible,“ said Arnd Rune Thomas, CEO of Aramark Germany. “We look forward to a very successful partnership.”

“We are looking forward to the first season and the future together,” said Axel Geerken, Director of Business Development - Sports and Event Catering, Aramark. “The historic FK Austria Wien football club also fits perfectly with our values with its commitment to society and the environment.”

The teams are already creating plans for the new partnership, including redesigning areas of the Arena and collaborating on ways to increase the number of non-soccer events to make use of the facility on non-match days.
