Each year on December 31st, visitors from Germany and all over Europe travel to Berlin’s famous Brandenburg Gate to usher in the new year.
For the first time this year, festival specialist Gastro Team Bremen (GTB), a subsidiary of Aramark Germany, was selected as the official food and beverage caterer for the massive event that attracted more than 60,000 enthusiastic visitors on New Year’s Eve.
“It was an honor for us to provide catering for this unique event and to contribute to this unforgettable night with catering that perfectly matched the atmosphere and significance of the event,“ said Sascha Ebner, Managing Director, GTB.
The German team transformed the 2.5-kilometre-long festival grounds into a culinary oasis, equipped with approximately 80 food and drink stands to suit all tastes and preferences.
Food offerings included tasty burgers and sandwiches, hot snacks, steaks, sausages, and Asian dishes. Beer, wine, and sparkling wine invited guests to toast to the new year while warm glühwein and hot chocolate helped warm up the cold night.
GTB also implemented sustainable options, such as reusable cups to minimize waste.
Top-class musical acts entertained the crowd and a spectacular fireworks display at midnight capped the unforgettable night for all visitors who came to “Celebrate at the Gate.”
