April 9, 2025

The latest trends and developments in the hospitality industry were showcased during Aramark Chile’s eighth annual Innovation Summit in late March. Attended by more than than 1,000 people, the Summit featured some of the industry’s most innovative solutions, providers, and thought leaders.

The event was sponsored by the Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS), and the Association of Industrial Mining Suppliers (APRIMIN).

“We are committed to ensuring that innovation responds to our clients’ strategic vision, as well as the needs of our consumers and employees,” said Eduardo Rojas, President, Aramark Latin America. “This is the core purpose and the differentiating value that sets us apart.”

In all, more than 100 solutions were presented this year, including nearly 50 advancements focused solely on enhancing service experiences.

Increasing Performance and Satisfaction

For the mining sector, several housing alternatives were presented to improve the conditions and facilities where workers reside.

Currently, Aramark is developing well-equipped co-working spaces with high connectivity to reduce feelings of isolation. Additionally, the company launched the first snack supermarket with a flexible store format, allowing workers to choose snacks from a variety of products using a points-based system powered by artificial intelligence.

“As service providers, we do not just meet operational needs,” said Ari Bermann, Vice President of Commercial and Business Development, Aramark Latin America. “We can also have a direct impact on motivation, performance, and talent retention with well-managed facilities featuring innovative solutions.”

Food Innovation to Improve Health Outcomes

At the Summit, a pilot project was introduced for consumers with swallowing difficulties, such as the elderly or patients with specific medical conditions. These individuals often consume fewer nutrients, as traditional pureed foods can be less appealing and can lead to weight loss.

With food re-texturization techniques and advanced technology, Aramark has developed a solution that strives to maintain the original appearance of food while ensuring a safe and easy-to-swallow consistency, enhancing the dining experience.

Productivity as a Key Factor

Productivity is a crucial focus in the service industry, particularly in facility management. Aramark's proprietary technology platform, Nexus, stole the spotlight at the Innovation Summit.

This system leverages real-time data to optimize workplace management, gathering information from wireless sensors, building systems, and occupant feedback. Artificial intelligence then analyzes these inputs to identify patterns and enhance cleaning and security operations.

Voice of the Experts

Discussion panels this year focused on topics such as how artificial intelligence is transforming operations and customer experiences in the service industry and how innovation can improve eating habits. Featured panelists included experts from academia and the private sector.
