Welcoming new partners to the Aramark family
It was a great year for growth through business acquisitions and company wins. In 2022, we welcomed PEA, Forever Resorts, and Merlin Entertainments to the Aramark family.
Being recognized as Fortune's Most Admired
Aramark ranked first in the Diversified Outsourcing Services industry.
Announcing our intentions to spin off our Uniforms line of business
In May, we announced our plan to separate Aramark Uniform Services (AUS) into an independent, publicly traded company.
Rolling out Cool Food Meals
Starting with a U.S. pilot, we made it easier for students at 21 U.S.-based and 15 Canadian-based colleges and universities to make climate-friendly choices, by introducing Cool Food Meals on residential dining menus in 2022. In 2023, we plan on expanding our efforts to Aramark's Collegiate Hospitality, Healthcare+, and Workplace Experience Group lines of business.
Receiving awards for our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts
At Aramark, we strive to do great things for people and our planet. We remain committed to reducing inequity, supporting and growing our communities, and protecting our planet.
- We received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index.
- Aramark was named a Top 50 Employer by CAREERS & the disABLED Magazine.
- We were recognized by DiversityInc as a Top Company for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) for the first time and as a Top 50 Company for Diversity.
- Aramark was named one the “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion,” by the 2022 Disability Equality Index® (DEI), earning a top score of 100%.
- We received an “A” rating from MSCI, a two-step improvement over our previous rating.
Celebrating our employees
We never get tired of celebrating our incredible employees! This year, five of our employee resource groups recognized members who made an impact at Aramark and beyond.
- Leaders & Employees of African Descent (LEAD) presented awards to members who demonstrated outstanding leadership, creativity, and vision.
- EMPOWER awarded members for their work in advocating action for women in the workplace.
- Aramark Young Professionals celebrated young leaders for their impact within the organization, industry, and community.
- Impacto honored winners for their commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Pride recognized LGBTQ+ inclusion with the Pride of Aramark and OUTstanding Community Partner awards.
Creating innovative, new concepts with celebrity chefs and restauranteurs
In 2022, we launched new concepts and participated in some exciting culinary collaborations!
- Aramark Collegiate Hospitality introduced a new retail branded concept, B+F (Burgers and Fries), at colleges and universities across the U.S.
- We teamed up with Chef and dedicated humanitarian, Grace Ramirez, to launch La Latina Cocina in Collegiate Hospitality dining locations.
- Aramark Sports + Entertainment and Starr Restaurants debuted Adrian at Wells Fargo Center.
- We developed Jack*s Burritos with Starr Restaurants, which will launch in our Workplace Experience Group, Healthcare+, and Collegiate Hospitality lines of business in 2023.
Supporting the 2022 World Series
As the food and beverage partner at both Minute Maid Park (Astros) and Citizens Bank Park (Phillies), where we also manage the merchandise, we delivered a world-class hospitality experience, while our facilities team at Minute Maid Park ensured the ballpark was clean and ready for fans each game.
Making an impact on local communities through volunteerism
At Aramark, we “Care. Give. Do.” Our employees make a positive impact, providing support to local communities year-round.
- For National Volunteer Month (April), Aramark employees worked to conserve the environment, reduce food insecurity, and build more sustainable communities.
- Volunteers from LEAD, Synergy, and Impacto ERGs hosted back-to-school projects across the U.S., where they distributed backpacks and school supplies to children.
- In September, thousands of Aramark volunteers around the world participated in Aramark Building Community Day, the company’s global day of service.
- During Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), Aramark employees joined in events designed to raise awareness about and support people affected by breast cancer.
