National Park Service selects Crater Lake Hospitality, LLC to operate visitor services at Crater Lake National Park and Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve

April 3, 2018

The National Park Service today announced the selection of Crater Lake Hospitality, LLC, a subsidiary of Aramark, to operate visitor services at Crater Lake National Park and Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve. The concessioner will operate lodging, a campground, boat tours, food service, and retail at Crater Lake and operate a lodge, food service, and retail at Oregon Caves.

The concession contract, awarded through a competitive selection process, combines two currently separate operations under one contract. This commercial operation will provide a significant portion of the services visitors seek at these parks, and is critical to providing a positive visitor experience. The visitor services include the management of two lodges in the grand National Park Lodge tradition, the Crater Lake Lodge and the Oregon Caves Chateau.

“The staff and partners at Crater Lake National Park and Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve are excited to welcome Crater Lake Hospitality, LLC to southern Oregon” said Crater Lake Superintendent Craig Ackerman. “We look forward to continuing to meet the needs of our visitors through high quality commercial services.”

Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve Superintendent Vicki Snitzler added, “Superintendent Ackerman and I also want to express our sincere thanks to Xanterra Parks and Resorts and Oregon Caves Outfitters for their dedication and service to the parks.” Oregon Caves Outfitters is the outgoing concessioner at Oregon Caves, and Xanterra Parks and Resorts is the outgoing concessioner at Crater Lake.

“We’re pleased to have been awarded the contract for Crater Lake National Park and Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve,” said Bruce W. Fears, President of Aramark’s Leisure division. “We’ve enjoyed a long partnership with the National Park Service and look forward to working with them to enhance hospitality services, guest amenities and recreational activities at these renowned destinations.”

Crater Lake Hospitality, LLC is a subsidiary of Aramark, a long-time concessioner with national park operations throughout the country. Crater Lake Hospitality will assume responsibility for visitor services at these parks during the fall of 2018.
