More than 325,000 visitors expected for the largest sailing event in the United States in 2015
PHILADELPHIA, PA – From beer gardens to commemorative rubber duckies, Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), the global provider of award-winning services in food, facilities management and uniforms, has the food and merchandise needs of guests attending Tall Ships® Philadelphia-Camden 2015 covered.
Aramark will provide food, beverage and retail merchandise service to the 325,000 expected festival visitors, who will gather on the banks of the Philadelphia and Camden waterfronts from June 25-28, to catch a glimpse, step aboard or even set sail on some of the world’s most majestic ships along the Delaware River, as part of the largest sailing event in the United States this year.
“Aramark is proud to be a part of this special Tall Ships event and we’re especially excited because it’s taking place in our backyard,” said Marc Bruno, chief operating officer of Aramark’s sports, leisure, and dining sectors. “These ships are world-class vessels and we look forward to providing a world-class hospitality experience for everybody in attendance.”
Aramark will oversee the entire concessions operation on the Camden waterfront, where attendees can find more than 20 food vendors and assorted refreshment stations.
On the Philadelphia side, Aramark will oversee the food operations at the Independence Seaport Museum beer garden, “Tall Ship Tavern.” Here, guests can enjoy pub foods like burgers, fries, cheesesteaks and fish and chips.
In addition to food and beverage, Aramark is the official merchandiser of “The World’s Largest Rubber Duck,” a 61 foot tall, 11 ton rubber duck that will wade across the river throughout the weekend festivities. Souvenir seekers can find a variety of merchandise, ranging from rubber duck replicas, to t-shirts, hats, stickers, tattoos and drink ware.
Aramark will host the VIP/Sponsorship Reception on Saturday June 27th, at the Independent Seaport Museum, while Aramark’s catering division, 1st & Fresh, will provide catering service for a number of events on-board the ships.
The Tall Ships festival is the first of two major events Aramark is partnering with this summer in its hometown of Philadelphia. Earlier this month, Aramark was announced as the official retail vendor of event merchandise for the World Meeting of Families Congress and Papal Visit, which will be held September 22-27.
