SAN FRANCISCO, CA – JUST, an innovative food company with a mission to make the foods we love healthier and more sustainable, announced today that it has partnered with Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), a global leader in food, facilities and uniforms, to bring JUST Egg, the plant-based, protein-packed product to corporate, healthcare and higher education cafes.
JUST Egg is plant-based, cholesterol-free, and dairy-free, contains no artificial flavors, and its ingredients are more sustainable than conventional chicken eggs. After five years of development, JUST’s team of Michelin-starred chefs have created a product that looks and tastes just like the fluffy, filling, savory breakfast staple that consumers love.
The JUST Egg Breakfast Patty will be available to consumers for a limited time at select corporate and hospital cafes and college campus food courts, managed by Aramark, beginning October 22.
“Launching JUST Egg is a major milestone and we’re thrilled to have Aramark as one of our first global foodservice providers to help us expand our reach and further our mission in bringing food that’s not only delicious but healthier and more sustainable to a larger audience,” said JUST co-founder and CEO Josh Tetrick.
“As part of our commitment to developing healthier and sustainable menus, we’re continuously looking for new ways to bring-to-market innovative products,” said Heidi Hogan, who leads product development for Aramark. “Expanding our menu offerings to include JUST Egg further speaks to our promise to deliver healthy recipes that not only feature quality ingredients, but taste good, too.”
JUST’s launch with Aramark marks a particularly exciting moment in JUST’s rapid expansion of JUST Egg into new retail and foodservice locations across the country.
As a growing number of consumers look for options that are healthier, provide protein and are allergen-friendly, Aramark understands the great potential plant-based menu items, like those from JUST Egg, has in helping meet these lifestyle and dietary needs, ultimately improving the way communities eat across the country. Results from Aramark’s proprietary research suggests that 80% of consumers would be open to trying a plant-based food that is new to them and over half (58%) said that personal health was the main driver of increasing plant-forward options. Reflective of this, 30% of main dishes served across Aramark’s dining operations in Healthcare, Higher Education and Business Dining are vegetarian or vegan.
JUST is on a mission to build a food system where everyone eats well. The company’s world-class team of scientists and researchers leverage a one-of-a-kind discovery platform for meat and plant-based food and Michelin starred chefs combine these ingredient discoveries with decades of culinary expertise to create delicious, accessible, healthier and more sustainable products for the JUST brand and Made JUST licensing program. JUST has been recognized as one of Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies” in food and social good, Entrepreneur’s “100 Brilliant Companies,” CNBC’s “Disruptor 50” and is a World Economic Forum “Technology Pioneer.” For more information about JUST, visit www.justforall.com.
