Through healthy menu innovation, consumer engagement and education, community outreach and employee programs, we’re deeply committed to a creating a culture of health and wellbeing. We’ve joined the American Heart Association in our Healthy For Life® initiative. Together, we’ve made significant progress across our operations and in the communities where we live and work.
Our chefs, dietitians and menu developers have worked to reduce calories, saturated fat and sodium 15% on average across menus served in our workplaces, hospital cafes and university dining halls. Our plant-forward menu approach has increased fruits, vegetables and whole grains 9% while reducing red meat 5%. Thirty percent of our main dishes are now either vegetarian or vegan. Hundreds of our chefs have participated in culinary workshops to learn how to better serve customers who want to eat more plant-forward.
This consumer campaign engages millions of people in healthy food discovery at more than 1,000 food service locations and through digital and social media. The program includes nutrition information, lifestyle tips and healthy recipes from our dietitians and chefs.
Aramark is committed to creating community engagement programs that help families change their relationship with food – inspiring them to make healthier food choices part of their everyday lives. Aramark chef and dietitian volunteers partner with community organizations to lead community nutrition and cooking experiences. We currently work with more than 300 local community centers in more than 50 cities worldwide—helping families get access to and prepare delicious, healthier food. Through our initiative with the American Heart Association, we have made this extensive community health engagement and education curriculum available to organizations across the U.S.
