Our Communities, Our Futures

We’re a company of thousands people working all around the world —and we’ve made it part of our mission and promise to give back, to enrich and nourish lives in the local communities in which we live and work.

Aramark Building Community

Health disparities, food insecurity and lack of employment skills are critical issues for people around the world. We launched our global volunteer program, Aramark Building Community, in 2008 to engage the talents and passions of our chefs, dietitians and other employees to help families learn about and get access to healthy food, improve local community centers, and provide important job skills that can help them on a path to a better future.

Throughout the year, and during our annual Aramark Building Community Day, thousands of our employee volunteers work to build vibrant, sustainable communities for all. Our partnerships with the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities in the U.S. and other organizations worldwide help us serve families in need. We also offer complimentary resources to nonprofit organizations that equip families and individuals with the skills, knowledge and confidence to discover, choose, and prepare healthy food—often in conjunction with volunteer activities like food drives, cooking demos, and meal prep workshops.

Food Insecurity

Aramark is committed to finding ways to promote access to healthy food in the communities where we live and work. We inspire families and individuals to discover, choose and prepare healthy food. Our teams leads activities including community food drives, cooking demonstrations and nutrition education programs. Our innovative Healthy for Life® curriculum was developed with the American Heart Association and is available as part of the SNAP-Ed Toolkit

In addition, Aramark recognizes that food insecurity — a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life — is a growing concern across communities. We are committed to working with a variety of partners to develop and implement practices to address food insecurity. We work with many clients to offer critically needed meals and assistance through organizations such as Swipe Out HungerFood Recovery Network, and the Hope Center in Philadelphia.

Impact Investing, Strategic Partners

We donate as much as $15 million annually through direct, in-kind and matching contributions to organizations and causes that create measurable social and environmental impact to support sustainable communities for the future. We currently collaborate with leading nonprofits including the American Heart Association, City Year, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Special Olympics Pennsylvania, and SMART Health Centers.

When it comes to building local communities, at Aramark: We care. We give. We DO.
