We’ve joined forces with the American Heart Association (AHA) with the goal of improving the health of Americans 20 percent by 2020. This powerful partnership -- Healthy for Life® 20 By 20, -- combines our scale and reach, plus our nutrition and culinary expertise, with the Heart Association’s research and vast volunteer network.
As part of this initiative, ten Feed Your Potential 365 Clubs (FYP 365 Clubs) were launched in community centers to inspire participants to discover the benefits of a healthier diet. Our talented chefs, registered dietitians and food service managers help facilitate educational experiences developed in partnership with the AHA. They provide knowledge, skills, and confidence in choosing and preparing healthy meals at home:
Andrea, of Philadelphia, cooks for multiple generations of her family and is now on the lookout for lower-carb, lower-sodium foods.
Lourdes, of Chicago, grew up in a family where there were no portion sizes and it was rude not to finish everything on your plate. Since joining the FYP 365 Club, she has been making small changes in her family’s diet.
Sally E, of Dallas, is now modifying her diet to lower her blood pressure by reducing sodium, purchasing more produce, and incorporating new ways to cook at home. She has also encouraged her grandchildren to eat more fruits and vegetables.
