2024 John L. Hennessy Award
In its 68th year, the Department of the Air Force announced the winners of the 2024 John L. Hennessy Trophy Awards for food service excellence. Salute Hospitality McConnell AFB Team of Wichita, KS, was honored with one of four prestigious global spots for the John L Hennessy Award. This esteemed recognition is bestowed upon installations that demonstrate the pinnacle of management effectiveness, force readiness support, food quality and production, employee and customer relations, training, and safety awareness. Team McConnell and Salute Hospitality General Manager, Michael Tholen, were recognized in Chicago for their exceptional teamwork, consistent quality, clean, inviting atmospheres, and pride. 2024 Advanced Management Training Program Pathways to Careers in Hospitality Industry Panel
Yulianto Liu, Salute Hospitality General Manager Travis AFB, participated in the 2024 Advanced Management Training Program Pathways to Careers in Hospitality Industry Panel at NRA. During this time, he highlighted Aramark’s partnership with “Hiring Our Heroes”, supporting their mission to connect the military community with businesses to create economic opportunity and a strong, diversified workforce. Yulianto went on to explain the challenges and rewards he has faced in transitioning from military to civilian work.

Aramark Salute Hospitality will partner at the next Hiring Our Heroes event, which will be held on July 25th at Joint Base McGuire, Dix, Lakehurst (JBMDL) in New Jersey.
Aramark Salute Hospitality takes part in and hosts an array of events year-round, proudly serving veterans, service members, and military spouses. This past month, in support of SHFM’s We Care Campaign and May’s Military Appreciation Month, Salute Hospitality, Salute ERG, and the Aramark Headquarters Communications Team, along with over 100 volunteers, came together to box provisions and write cards of appreciation to send support to over 750 service members serving on the front line.
We are so proud of our Salute Hospitality team as they continually work to help bring joy to the communities that serve our nation and be the one provider solution for first-class hospitality services that engage, inspire, and enhance each community’s health, welfare, and morale.
