Aramark Acquires On-Demand Food Delivery Service, Good Uncle

August 6, 2019 – Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), a global leader in food, facilities management and uniforms, today announced the acquisition of privately-held Good Uncle, an innovative, app-based on-demand food delivery service that brings freshly prepared, restaurant quality meals to conveniently located pick-up points around college campuses. The addition of this concierge service to the Aramark portfolio furthers the company’s commitment to advancing innovation through culinary-and technology-driven solutions that better serve customers and clients.

Good Uncle, launched in 2016, utilizes centralized production and a fleet of specially equipped vehicles to deliver exceptional meals to the most popular spots on and off campus. Its world-class culinary team, led by a Michelin-rated chef, crafts a diverse menu of healthy and indulgent items that rotates frequently to keep the experience enticing.

Through a proprietary mobile app and drop-point model, Good Uncle has quickly established itself as a pioneer in the on-demand food delivery category and become a favorite among upperclassmen and students living off campus. By designating pick up locations, Good Uncle is able to deliver to multiple customers simultaneously, resulting in greater efficiency than traditional delivery options. 

Good Uncle will operate independently, maintaining its unique brand identity. The acquisition complements Aramark’s standing as an industry leader in campus dining, serving more than 400 campuses across the U.S.
