ARAMARK has converted its Metropolitan New York Dietetic Internship Program to Distance Learning and is taking it on the road!

ARAMARK Healthcare now sponsors a Distance Learning Dietetic Internship where practice sites for interns are at ARAMARK managed facilities in all five boroughs of Metropolitan New York, northern New Jersey and San Antonio, Texas. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of The American Dietetic Association, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606, 312/899-4876. The program has graduated approximately 200 interns since its inception in 1993.

  • No need to find your own site! ARAMARK will have designated sites and preceptors available for you.
  • All classes will be conducted using a distance learning format and IT technology.
  • ARAMARK will bring their outstanding clinical and management experts to you during class sessions.

Distance Learning

Interns will participate in classes which will be conducted online and/or by conference call.  Each intern will need their own laptop computer with Microsoft Word and Power Point applications.  Internet access is required with a broad band connection.

Throughout the program, interns meet regularly with the program director via teleconferences to discuss program progress.  Site visits will also be conducted by an ARAMARK dietetic internship director to the practice sites.   All preceptors at rotation sites are selected by ARAMARK and have been provided training so they can provide you the best supervised practice experience.  Class sessions will include guest speakers from throughout the country.  ARAMARK’s Kansas City and Mid-Atlantic Dietetic interns also participate in your classes when guest speakers are scheduled.

Orientation will be held at an ARAMARK-affiliated location in the New York area.  Interns will be responsible for their own travel and lodging (if needed) during the one-week program orientation in September.
