InfoWorld Names ARAMARK as One of the "Green 15"

National ranking recognizes company’s operational excellence, commitment to sustainability

Philadelphia, PA, April 28, 2009 – ARAMARK, a global professional services company, announced today that it was ranked one of the Top Green-IT Companies by IDG’s InfoWorld, a leading information technology publication. The InfoWorld Green 15 Awards recognize the 15 most innovative IT initiatives that enhance sustainability.

“This recognition is a credit to the commitment and creativity of our people, whose skills have made us a leader in our industry,” said David Kaufman, chief information officer of ARAMARK’s global food and facility services businesses. “ARAMARK is dedicated to protecting and improving the environment. Reducing our environmental footprint is one more way in which we develop world-class experiences, environments and outcomes for our clients, our customers and our teams.”

ARAMARK was recognized for its managed print program, a unique and cost-effective approach to cutting print waste and electricity consumption. The company replaced many of its copiers, printers and scanners with energy-efficient multifunction devices (MFDs) and implemented security software and systems to help ensure the security and integrity of its critical data.

The initiatives resulted in a reduction in energy, electricity, paper, and toner use while supporting the company’s goal of reducing its environmental footprint while delivering exceptional operational results.

"This year's Green 15 winners demonstrate, once again, that green IT projects can be a win-win proposition. These organizations have not only helped the planet by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, preserving trees, and keeping e-waste out of landfills. They've also reaped measurable business benefits, such as significantly lower electricity bills, fewer hardware refreshes, and postponed datacenter-expansion projects -- along with gains in efficiency and productivity," said Ted Samson, senior analyst, InfoWorld.
