ARAMARK Awarded Re-Certification for Management and Green Cleaning Excellence by Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association

CIMS and CIMS-GB Certifications Recognize Commitment to Quality, Sustainability and Customer Service

PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 24, 2012) – ARAMARK, a world leader in providing professional facilities management services, has once again been awarded Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Certification and CIMS-Green Building (CIMS-GB) Certification by ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association.

ISSA re-certification recognizes ARAMARK’s continued commitment to promoting cleaning operations that deliver consistent, quality services designed to meet customers’ needs and expectations within its Business & Industry, Higher Education, and Sports & Entertainment facility services operations.

ARAMARK provides its partners with customized facility services solutions, including maintenance, engineering, janitorial, custodial, landscaping, housekeeping, energy management, and set-up and venue conversion. Last year, ARAMARK introduced an environmentally-friendly “Blue Cleaning” program that uses electrically activated water (EAW) in place of traditional chemicals to safely clean most floors, carpets and hard surface areas.

“We are honored to be recognized with re-certification. Our cleaning programs and services are designed to provide high-quality, customized solutions that deliver clean, sustainable environments for clients and their guests,” said Joseph J. Tinney, Jr., President, ARAMARK Business & Industry Facility Services. “It is a testament to the hard-work of our team members and their continued commitment to service excellence.”

“In 2010 my co-assessor Bill Fellows and I believed ARAMARK to be one of the very top organizations we have encountered. In 2012, they have become an even better and stronger company. They are truly a company that is changing the way the world views cleaning and are raising the level of professionalism in the cleaning industry,” said Bruce L. Stark, President of Stark Consulting and former recipient of the Janitorial/Sanitation Person of the Year for North America. Stark assessed ARAMARK’s operations on behalf of ISSA.

According to ISSA, there are fewer than 50 organizations worldwide that have achieved CIMS and CIMS-GB certification, making it an effective way to identify cleaning-service providers who are committed to service excellence and customer satisfaction. The CIMS-GB with Honors designation further assures businesses and industries that ARAMARK will provide them the cost- and energy-efficient systems they need to secure points under the LEED Green Building rating system.

CIMS-certified organizations must demonstrate compliance with the international organization’s core principles and quality standards in service delivery, human resources, health, safety and environmental stewardship. In addition to a comprehensive assessment of operational execution, an independent and ISSA-accredited assessor conducts on-site reviews of client facilities.
