ARAMARK’s “All-Star Vendors” Called Up for Mid-Summer Classic

Top Hawkers at 12 Major League Ballparks to Display Skills at All-Star Game Festivities

Anaheim, CA, July 7, 2010 - Even before the starting lineups are announced, the national anthem is sung or the first pitch is thrown, one group of All-Stars already will have pulled on their jerseys, laced up their shoes and gone to work for the 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, July 13 at Angel Stadium.

ARAMARK has made the call to All-Star Vendors at each of the 12 Major League Baseball team partners, where it is the exclusive food and beverage provider, and provided the hawkers with an all-expenses-paid trip to Anaheim to showcase their unique talents during baseball’s mid-season masterpiece. The vendors will help bring the All-Star Game experience to young baseball fans at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County before hawking their tasty treats to fans at the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game on July 12 and July 13, respectively.

“Our vendors are as much a part of the Major League Baseball fan experience as clutch on-field performances and delicious menu options at our dining destinations,” said Marc Bruno, President of ARAMARK Sports, Entertainment and Conventions. “We’re honored to bring the league’s best hawkers together to make this year’s All-Star Game experience even more enjoyable for fans.”

The 2010 All-Star Game represents the seventh year ARAMARK has honored vendors for their work by hand-picking a team of the hardest-working, best-selling and most enthusiastic hawkers to represent the company during the Mid-Summer Classic. This year’s roster includes more than two hundred years of combined vending experience:

  • Angel Stadium: Jason McIver (8 years)
  • Citi Field: Arnold Henriquez (13 years)
  • Citizens Bank Park: Andrew Reddin (8 years)
  • Coors Field: Howard Greer (16 years)
  • Fenway Park: Andrew Nadeau (12 years)
  • Kauffman Stadium: Archie Jemerson (36 years)
  • Minute Maid Park: Minner Ford (19 years)
  • Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum: David Whitworth (30 years)
  • Oriole Park at Camden Yards: Emanuel Sabedra (10 years)
  • PNC Park: Fred Davis (40 years)
  • Rogers Centre: Maurice Armstrong (11 years)
  • Turner Field: Antonio Varner (8 years)

"It is an honor to be recognized as one of baseball's best vendors and a privilege to represent my hometown and Angel Stadium," said Jason McIver, ARAMARK's Host All-Star Vendor for 2010. "Along with ARAMARK's other All-Star Vendors, I'm looking forward to putting on a show for fans at this year's All-Star Game."
