Philadelphia, PA, September 1, 2010 - ARAMARK Higher Education, a leading provider of professional services to colleges and universities throughout North America, proudly announces the fifth edition of Presidential Perspectives, a respected leadership essay series authored by college presidents who share practical strategies, best practices and success stories impacting the higher education industry.
The theme for this year’s series, “Economic Prosperity in the Next Decade,” offers a promising look into the challenging future ahead in higher education. Monthly white paper essays will focus on Public/Private Partnerships, Addressing Financial Challenges, Entrepreneurial University, Climate Planning and Financial Viability.
“The essays address many critical issues presidents and other campus leaders contend with today in order to successfully plan for tomorrow,” said John Walda, President and CEO of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) in Washington, D.C and author of this year’s series foreword. “Presidential Perspectives is more than a resource for college and university presidents. Essays offer guidance to senior level administration and have made their way into classrooms, as instructors have recognized their usefulness as a teaching tool.”
“We are proud to publish the fifth edition of Presidential Perspectives and pleased that the essays have proven to be a useful resource for higher education leaders,” said Chris Hackem, President of ARAMARK Higher Education.
The first chapter in the series, “Leadership and Change,” authored by Dr. Kevin Manning, President of Stevenson University in Maryland discusses how change, when initiated correctly, can strengthen and balance an institution of higher learning for the future.
“The future of higher education overall is bright, albeit challenging,” writes Dr. Manning. “With patience, planning skills and a focus on calculated risks, needed changes at the institutional level may improve the higher education industry and enable future students to receive the education they need for success.”
Dr. Marylouise Fennell, senior counsel for the Council of Independent Colleges and past president of Carlow University, and Dr. Scott D. Miller, president of Bethany College in West Virginia, continue to serve as executive editors of Presidential Perspectives.
All chapter essays will be available at no cost at www.presidentialperspectives.org. This site serves as the repository and archive for all chapters, author biographies, chapter calendar, and additional information about the series.
