ARAMARK Covering the Bases in Anaheim During Major League Baseball’s All-Star Weekend

Partnership with Local Culinary Schools Provides Future Chefs with High-Profile Event Training and Experience

Anaheim, CA, June 28, 2010 – With Anaheim poised to be baseball’s mecca during the 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, ARAMARK gets the ball when it comes to delivering catering and food and beverage services for All-Star Weekend festivities. From pre- and post-game parties to MLB All-Star FanFest, the Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game itself, ARAMARK will be called on to play an integral role in many events throughout the city from July 9-13.   

As the culinary partner at Angel Stadium, Anaheim Convention Center, Honda Center and Grove of Anaheim, ARAMARK is preparing to serve baseball’s annual mid-summer pilgrimage of VIPs, celebrities, fans and players. Additionally, ARAMARK will manage the 12,000-square-foot retail store at MLB All-Star FanFest, marking the 12th consecutive year ARAMARK has operated the FanFest Clubhouse Store on Major League Baseball’s behalf.

In anticipation of the All-Star celebration, a highly accomplished culinary team, led by ARAMARK Regional Executive Chef O’Brien Tingling, has been assembled to develop menus, prepare meals and provide event support.

A team of 2,450 chefs, managers and employees working around the clock and across Anaheim will ensure attendees are well-fed and experiencing the time of their lives. ARAMARK also has partnered with area culinary schools and art institutes to provide students with an opportunity to participate in and assist with this unique event experience.

Anaheim Convention Center
Home to MLB All-Star FanFest, ARAMARK will manage all of Anaheim Convention Center’s general concessions and exhibitor catering for the five-day event.  Under the guidance of ARAMARK Executive Chef Otis Huemmer, FanFest attendees will find a wide array of fare including “Bullpen” Hearst Ranch sliders, individual pizzas, calzones and Stromboli, an Urban Wok Station, fish tacos, and the Angels’ signature Halo Dog.  Ballpark vendors also will be walking around “hawking” classic favorites, like cotton candy, peanuts and Cracker Jack.

Grove of Anaheim
ARAMARK Executive Chef Evan Stanley, recently named one of Orange County’s 40 Under 40, has created a world-class menu for invited guests attending Monday’s All-Star Gala and Tuesday’s Pre-Game Celebration at The Grove. ARAMARK and Chef Stanley are preparing to serve 10,000 guests over the two days.

Angel Stadium
For three days, beginning with Saturday’s Futures Game and culminating with the All-Star Game, all eyes will be on Angel Stadium. ARAMARK Executive Chef David Dekker will oversee a kitchen operation that is expected to serve 135,000 fans, players, VIPs and league officials.  In addition to managing general concessions, club and suite dining, as well as the stadium’s restaurants, ARAMARK will also provide catering for the players’ clubhouses.

MLB All-Star FanFest Clubhouse Store
Fans hoping to score a souvenir from All-Star Weekend will undoubtedly find themselves swinging by the MLB All-Star FanFest Clubhouse Store. As the store’s exclusive operator, ARAMARK has worked closely with MLB and its licensees to design exclusive apparel and memorabilia for sale at FanFest.
