Anaheim, CA, June 28, 2010 – While Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game features the game’s best talent on July 13 at Angel Stadium, fans at the 2010 Mid-Summer Classic in Anaheim will feast on the country’s best ballpark food when ARAMARK – the exclusive food and beverage partner for 12 Major League Baseball teams – stacks its lineup with regional menu favorites from throughout the league.
Today, with youths from The Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim and local community and business leaders in attendance, the Los Angeles Angels and ARAMARK unveiled the exclusive menu of All-Star Weekend.
Dueling BBQ Competition
Just like this year’s All-Stars will represent their teams on the field, two specially developed BBQ dining destinations inside Angel Stadium will feature signature menu items from ARAMARK’s 12 ballparks across the league, prepared with a regional flair by each ballpark’s executive chef.

As the American League and National League clubs compete for home-field advantage in the 2010 World Series, ARAMARK’s chefs – six from American League ballparks and six from National League ballparks – will battle for bragging rights in a “Dueling BBQ” contest on the stadium’s First Base and Third Base patios.

At the “Dueling BBQ” destinations, fans will decide who among ARAMARK’s chefs is baseball’s best and which league has the best ballpark food, with real-time results of the barbecue competition displayed at each stand to show which team might be in need of a late-inning rally.

Extreme Makeover: Angel Stadium Menu Edition
ARAMARK’s “Dueling BBQ” competition is one of several culinary delights fans can expect to find. The All-Star Game also will showcase Angel Stadium’s new, revamped-for-2010 menu, which was introduced on Opening Day. Fans will find several new concepts and significant enhancements to the ballpark’s menu that reflect Angels fans’ tastes and insights.
The upgrades, including brand new dining destinations, eye-catching signage and transformed menus, help enhance the guest experience at all Angels games.
Clyde Wright’s Bar-B-Que (Gate 1) - Traditional Tennessee barbecue, developed with former Angels’ All-Star pitcher Clyde Wright
Diablo’s Fierce Barbeque (sections 127, 244 and 416) - Classic, saucy sandwiches and sides
Major League Deli (Section 223) - Specialty sandwiches from around the league (including the house-braised pastrami, California turkey club, corned beef and more)
Major League Dogs (sections 259 and 424) - Famously “topped” hot dogs from around the league, including the Angels “Halo Dog” (bacon-wrapped 6/1 all-beef hot dog, topped with charro beans, shredded jack cheese and pico de gallo salsa)
Toro Sushi (Section 124) - Sensational sushi, sake & Japanese beers (prepared fresh in front of guests)
Panini Café (Section 112) - Gourmet grilled sandwiches, fresh salads and wine
CHIX (Section 103) - Everything chicken, prepared fresh (mixture of healthy and tasty chicken offerings)
The Grand Stand (throughout the stadium) - Reinvented classic ballpark fare
Sweet Spot (sections 103 and 412) - Ice cream, cookies, candy and more (offering specialty candies and confections)
Fans watching the All-Star Game from Angel Stadium’s premium seating areas will enjoy menus packed with plenty of gourmet tastes.
The ballpark’s signature 400-seat Diamond Club (Field Level, near home plate) features in-seat service, an outdoor dining patio and a buffet packed with appetizer
selections like marinated artichokes drizzled with minted garlic syrup and piquillo peppers stuffed with sun-dried tomato mascarpone; a range of entrées including seared sea bass, smoked free-range chicken, braised beef short rib and roasted prime rib; and desserts from apple potstickers and liquid nitrogen ice cream crafted in front of guests to fresh, hot donuts. Fresh sushi, crab cakes and pulled pork appetizers are among the restaurant’s many available a la carte items.
For guests in Angel Stadium’s 80 suites, offerings include seared Angus beef tenderloin, pulled pork and barbecue brisket, sushi, local fruit and cheese platters and more gourmet selections in addition to ballpark favorites.
The Knothole Club, with seating for 350 in the club level in right field, offers a wide array of salads and snacks for starters and main courses including a taco bar, barbecue pulled pork, shaved pastrami sandwiches, carved baby back ribs, buttermilk fried chicken and mini beef sliders. Desserts include warm peach cobbler, banana and chocolate chip pudding and fresh-baked cookies.
