Penguins, ARAMARK Unveil New Food and Beverage Options at State-Of-The-Art CONSOL Energy Center

Greater Accessibility, More Menu Variety Highlight Dining Lineup

Pittsburgh, PA, August 12, 2010 – The Pittsburgh Penguins and ARAMARK – a world-class leader in providing professional services and the Penguins’ exclusive food and beverage partner since 1991 – today announced the official food and beverage lineup for CONSOL Energy Center.

“We’re excited to team with ARAMARK to offer this new and diverse food and beverage menu to Penguins fans and patrons of CONSOL Energy Center,” said David Morehouse, president of the Penguins.

“To match the excitement surrounding the opening of CONSOL Energy Center, we’ve taken food and beverage quality and variety to another level that’s only fitting of this tremendous new facility,” said Marc Bruno, president of ARAMARK Sports, Entertainment and Conventions.

Highlights of CONSOL Energy Center’s new food and beverage offerings include:

First-Class Concessions, Unprecedented Speed of Service
With 25 permanent and 30 portable concession stands, guests visiting CONSOL Energy Center can enjoy hockey’s most delicious menu and quickly return to their seats to catch all the action.

The menu, consisting of 75 concessions items, includes options for every type of hockey fan and event attendee.

  • Smokehouse: Sandwiches and topped nachos featuring beef brisket, chicken and pulled pork – all cooked on premise, using the in-house smoker
  • Smokehouse Grill: Sirloin French dip, kielbasa grinder, grilled chicken sandwich, Angus cheeseburger, loaded French fries and onion rings
  • Primanti Bros: Specialty sandwiches, including the Pittsburgher, roast beef and capicolla and cheese
  • Stack: Kickin’ chicken sandwich, sirloin French dip, meatball grinder, Caesar salad and Mediterranean chicken wrap
  • Blaze: Pizza Hut pizza, Wingstreet chicken wings
  • Event floor views from main concourse food court, featuring chef-attended carvery station.
  • Nakama Japanese Steakhouse sushi (September)
  • Qdoba Mexican food (September)

First Niagara Club and Captain Morgan Club
Located on the east and west sides of CONSOL Energy Center, the First Niagara Club and Captain Morgan Club feature 1,950 combined premium seats and an upscale menu including 30 items ranging from Cuban pork sandwiches and beef satay with lo mein to grilled chicken ciabatta sandwiches and cheesesteak dippers.

Guests dining on the club level also will have access to dedicated concessions stands offering menu highlights from the main concourse.

Lexus Club
The 250-seat Lexus Club is CONSOL Energy Center’s most exclusive fine dining location. The menu will change daily to take advantage of locally sourced and seasonal ingredients.

Sample menu items include braised bison sirloin, spicy shrimp and lobster cakes and pistachio-crusted pork tenderloin.

Not Just For Gameday
On non-event days, CONSOL Energy Center will still be buzzing. Corporate events, fundraisers, weddings and other business and social gatherings will be scheduled for the event floor and throughout the arena’s concourse with a view of the Pittsburgh skyline. Other spaces include four 50-person party suites and four conference rooms with retractable walls for 40 to 160 guests.

Sample catering menus include the Three Rivers package, featuring Mediterranean dips and spreads, chimichurri beef kabobs, potato salad, pressed Cuban, sausage and cheese empanadas; and The Pittsburgher, featuring vegetable crudités, chips and dips, buffalo chicken wings, kielbasa and onions, Pittsburgh potato and cheese pierogies and turkey club sub sandwiches.

Expanded Retail
ARAMARK also manages the team’s retail merchandise services. The 4,000-square-foot Pens Gear team store is CONSOL Energy Center’s showcase retail center. Aside from the Penguins jerseys, hats and shirts fans have always loved, Pens Gear will also feature inaugural season merchandise, Winter Classic collectibles and fun items from golf accessories and tool sets to a team toaster that even imprints the Penguins logo.

Five smaller Pens Gear stores and three satellite merchandise shops are also located throughout CONSOL Energy Center.
