Rotations
The community rotation is 4 weeks. Experiences are planned in the following
areas:
| Outpatient Counseling |
Long Term Care / Senior Programs |
| School Lunch |
WIC |
| Wellness Programs |
Various other nutrition programs |
The internship is working with the ARAMARK Corporate Fitness Center at the
ARAMARK Tower in Philadelphia to provide nutrition information to employees. The
interns plan, provide, monitor, and evaluate a nutrition program for the
Philadelphia Corporation on Aging. The interns work with ARAMARK Business
Services which provides meals to these congregate feeding sites. Interns are
providing nutrition programs to the Philadelphia area schools.
The outpatient settings include dialysis centers, cardiac rehabilitation,
diabetes centers, private practice, WIC, and wellness centers.
One of the goals of the internship is to provide a “real life” professional
experience. Therefore, the internship is a minimum of 40 hours a week. This may
include some evenings, weekend days, and holidays. Interns work the hours of
their preceptors. If there is a class scheduled during the week, this is
included in the 40 hour week.
