Client Awards

2010

  • For the fourth consecutive year, Citizens Bank Park, an ARAMARK concessions venue and home of Major League Baseball's Philadelphia Phillies, has finished first in PETA's annual ranking of the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks.
  • ARAMARK Uniform Services (AUS), has received the Gold Uniform Supplier award in Food Processing magazine's 2010 Readers' Choice Awards. The award marks the sixth-straight year AUS has garnered a favored billing among the magazine's readership, who rank companies in an unaided survey across 50 product categories.

2009

  • ARAMARK Healthcare Canada’s Environmental Stewardship Initiative has earned a Waste Minimization Gold Award in Communications from the Recycling Council of Ontario (RCO) for the second straight year, further endorsement of ARAMARK’s effort to promote sustainability at nearly 200 healthcare facilities throughout Canada.
  • A partnership between Iowa Health System and ARAMARK Healthcare received an Environmental Stewardship Award from the Metro Waste Authority (MWA). This award recognizes the efforts of environmentally conscious leaders in the community who strive to lessen waste and increase conservation of resources.
  • For the second consecutive year, our energy management expertise helped win the EPA Energy Star Partner of the Year awards for ARAMARK Education client Council Rock School District in Pennsylvania. In 2008, the District reduced energy usage by more than 40 percent, and carbon dioxide emissions by over 22 million pounds.
  • ARAMARK Uniform Services (AUS), for the second year in a row, has been honored with the 2009 Hormel Foods,“Spirit of Excellence Award.” AUS received the award based for value-added benefits, including customer support, awareness of environmental concerns and sales representative performance, in addition to suppliers’ ability to meet requirements, make timely deliveries, provide accurate administrative support and maintain inventories.
  • The National Conference Center, managed by ARAMARK, was one of 28 lodging properties in the United States to receive a prestigious Green Seal Certification. The National Conference Center in Lansdowne, Virginia, won for environmentally sensitive practices, including waste minimization and recycling, bulk and environmentally preferable product purchasing, water conservation measures and the use of energy efficient equipment and supplies.
  • The City of Chicago and the United States Environmental Protection Agency recognized Navy Pier and McCormack Place for their efforts in recycling. For seven years, ARAMARK Sports, Entertainment and Conventions has provided facility services, including for the two popular Chicago tourist attractions.

2008

  • ARAMARK Healthcare’s Environmental Stewardship Initiative took top honors at the Recycling Council of Ontario’s Waste Minimization Awards. The initiative scored high marks by the Council in all four areas of judging: environmental benefits/impact, creativity and innovation, breadth and scope of the promotion, and overall involvement of partners and stakeholders.
  • Citizens Bank Park, an ARAMARK concessions venue and home of Major League Baseball's Philadelphia Phillies, has been named the most vegetarian-friendly sports venue in North America for the second consecutive year, according to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) 2008 annual survey.
  • Los Alamos National Laboratory honored ARAMARK with its Pollution Prevention Award for commitment to sustainable practices at the Laboratory's onsite food service venues.
  • Hormel Foods honored ARAMARK Uniform Services (AUS) with its 2008 “Spirit of Excellence Award," recognizing excellent customer service and high quality products. AUS provides a complete uniform program, mats, mops, towels, aprons and hygiene products to all of Hormel’s 25 locations across the United States.

Employee Awards

2010

  • Debra Rodgers, ARAMARK’s Vice President of Global Risk Management, was named Risk Manager of the Year by Business Insurance magazine.

2009

  • Joan O’Shaughnessy, CEO, ARAMARK Ireland, was named to a list of "Women Worth Watching" in the September/October issue of Profiles in Diversity Journal. Women in this prestigious group were nominated by colleagues, peers and mentors for their business achievements and personal contributions.
  • ARAMARK Corporate Responsibility Director in the United Kingdom, Val Carter, was recognized as the Global Ethics Ambassador at the One Water bi-annual presentation. Carter was presented with her award in honor of the support she has continued to show to One Water to help install water pumps in Africa. To date, she is responsible for spearheading her team to achieve funding to install ten PlayPumps, providing clean drinking water to over 5,000 children and their families.
  • ARAMARK General Managers Jim Tripp, Anaheim Convention Center, and Dawn Wheeler, Washington State Convention and Trade Center (WSCTC), have been named Top Eco-Leaders as part of Tradeshow Week magazine’s first-ever Green Innovation Awards.
  • Eddie Ward, ARAMARK UK Regional Development Chef for Scotland, won the prestigious Contract Catering Chef of the Year Award for creativity, excellence and innovation in Scotland’s catering, hospitality and tourism industries.
  • Holly Montalbano, ARAMARK Vice President of External Affairs, was honored by Girls Incorporated of Greater Houston with the 2009 Strong, Smart and Bold Leadership Award. Girls Incorporated of Greater Houston provides programs to over 8,000 girls from a broad spectrum of backgrounds.
  • Ed Cuza, ARAMARK Senior Foodservice Director at Mars Snackfoods US, was honored as Employer of the Year by Abilities NW Jersey, Inc.  The organization recognizes employers, employees, business leaders and community partners for their involvement and commitment in providing employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities.
  • Satish Natarajan, senior director of Fleet Operations for ARAMARK Uniform and Career Apparel, is Fleet Financial’s 2009 Fleet Executive of the Year. Natarajan’s leadership helped his company better leverage people, processes, and technology.

2008

  • Bonnie Bayliss, Operations Manager of the Richmond Regional Staffing was honored by the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services’ Center (DRS) for Career and Business Development for the Regional Staffing Center's ability to hire, source and retain over 50 of the DRS’s clients.
  • Liza Cartmell, President, Sports and Entertainment Group, was named to a list of "Women Worth Watching" in the September/October issue of Profiles in Diversity Journal. Women in this prestigious group were nominated by colleagues, peers and mentors for their business achievements and personal contributions.

Community Awards

2009

  • ARAMARK was named a finalist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Corporate Citizenship Award in the U.S. Customer Service Category.  ARAMARK is being recognized for its company-wide signature community involvement initiative, ARAMARK Building Community, which is designed to harness the company’s expertise and resources to strengthen the capacity of local community centers.
  • Twenty-four ARAMARK employees were recently awarded Jefferson Awards, national honors given by the American Institute for Public Service, to American citizens devoted to community and public service.
  • ARAMARK Canada Healthcare received a Gold Award for its Environmental Stewardship Initiative, an educational outreach and promotional program, at the Recycling Council of Ontario's 2008 Ontario Waste Minimization Awards.   • ARAMARK was awarded a 2008 Mayor’s Business Recognition Award for its civic leadership and outstanding community. This award is presented annually to those companies that have demonstrated outstanding community service and, through their contributions, have significantly improved the city of Baltimore.
  • ARAMARK's culinary team at the Palm Beach County Convention Center won two top prizes at the United Cerebral Palsy's 20th Annual Great Chef's Tasting Party, which benefits children and adults with developmental disabilities. Critiqued by a panel of professional food critics and judges, the team beat out more than 20 area restaurants to capture awards for Best Presentation and People's Choice.
  • Kevin Kearney, Sports & Entertainment District Manager, with ARAMARK received "The Morrie Sayre Founder’s Award for Outstanding Volunteerism to Shoes and Clothes for Kids." The award is presented annually to an individual and/or organization that has given selflessly to Shoes and Clothes for Kids (SCFK) as a volunteer and exemplifies the standards of giving, integrity and commitment to improving the lives of children in Greater Cleveland.
  • Twenty ARAMARK employees received prestigious Jefferson Awards, national honors given by the American Institute for Public Service to American citizens devoted to community and public service. ARAMARK’s Gold Medal Winner, Jane Wilsher, serves as Food Service Director at Central Michigan University.

2010

  • For setting high standards in corporate and civic leadership, ARAMARK Chairman and CEO Joe Neubauer received a Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal, the highest honor bestowed each year by the University of Virginia.
  • ARAMARK was recognized by Black Enterprise magazine as one of the Top 40 Companies for Diversity in 2010.
  • ARAMARK received the “Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles” Gold Award from the National Business Group on Health (NBGH). The ARAMARK Take Care Program achieved the Gold Award for its initiatives that encourage employees and their families to lead healthier lives.
  • ARAMARK Ireland has again been awarded the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems certification in recognition of their approach to food safety management at Mayo General Hospital, University College Hospital Galway, Dundalk Institute of Technology and Dublin City Council’s Civic Offices. Rigorous auditing was conducted by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) at these facilities which displayed high standards of, hygiene and food safety management.

  • ARAMARK Korea was awarded the 2009 Grand Prix of Food Service during the National Competitiveness Contribution Awards (NCCA). This highly-prestigious national award is sponsored by the South Korea President’s Council on National Competitiveness.

  • ARAMARK Czech Republic was awarded the prestigious National Quality Award – the first time a catering company has won it. The National Quality Award is given out by national government boards in 80 countries worldwide. For a company to win, it must meet stringent criteria in quality of products, services, and management; employee, client, customer and supplier relationships; financial results; environmental stewardship; and social responsibility.
  • ARAMARK Germany received Profiles in Diversity Journal’s "Innovations in International Diversity" award for the innovative approach it has taken to advance diversity in the workplace and in the communities it serves.
  • ARAMARK is ranked number 23 on Forbes' list of "America's Largest Private Companies." ARAMARK is also listed first in the report under "Private Companies With The Most Employees."
